Glimmer of Light
The task was to design a cover image for a short dystopian flash fiction story about a futuristic world where people's emotions are suppressed with advanced technology. The design should properly relate to the themes and tone of the story.
Sketches & Research
After reading the story, some research was done for inspiration. After finding some inspiration images, the sketching phase began. During this phase various ideas we explored on how best to convey the message of the story.
Digital Development
After showing the sketches to the client, two design ideas were picked. Due to heavy time constraints new iterations were not able to be made, and tweaks to the design had to be made whilst moving towards the final cover image.
Choosing the Final Design
After applying some on the fly changes, these are the two fully developed versions of the design. The designs were sent to the client, where the client would choose the final cover image for the flash fiction.
